Heading into Tuesday's game, the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers were tied for second place in the National League Central, just two games behind the Chicago Cubs. The Cardinals and Brewers will send a pair of pitchers who use opposing methods, yet still get the job done, to the hill on Wednesday when the two meet at Busch Stadium for the third of a four-game series.

Milwaukee Brewers at St. Louis Cardinals - 8:15 PM ET
C.C. Sabathia (9-8, 3.51) is getting used to his new team in a hurry, as he won his third straight game since coming over from Cleveland in a 9-1 rout of San Francisco on the road. Sabathia, the reigning American League Cy Young winner, tossed a complete-game four-hitter, allowing a single run along with ten strikeouts. The big southpaw also added a double to follow up his homer in his previous start against Cincinnati. This was Sabathia's fifth complete-game effort, and second straight with the Brewers, posting an 1.88 ERA in his three starts with Milwaukee so far. Sabathia's last meeting with the Cardinals came in 2006, when he led the Indians to a 3-1 win in St. Louis by scattering a run on five hits over eight innings.

Braden Looper (9-7, 4.60) is struggling a bit as he has not won in his last four starts, including a no-decision in an 11-7 victory over San Diego at home. The 33-year-old righthander was tagged for six runs on eight hits in just three innings, and he gave up two homers for the third consecutive start. Looper has now given up nine long balls in his past five outings, and a meeting with the Brewers may not be the best thing for the slumping veteran, as they are fourth in the entire majors in homers. Looper has split a pair of starts against the Brewers this season, putting up an ERA of 4.09.

The Brewers took the first game of this series by doubling the Cardinals 6-3 in ten innings on Monday, taking advantage of two St. Louis errors. Sabathia is in a zone right now, and it appears that new surroundings has given the ace a new lease on life. Meanwhile, Looper is just looking to escape this game with minimal damage, as the Brewers scored 30 runs over a three-game sweep of San Francisco, as well as the series opener in St. Louis. Take Sabathia to run his record to 4-0 with the Brewers in a comfortable victory on Wednesday.
