Mary Royall Wilgis Imagination Fund Recipient — Color of Memory

Artist statement

What is the color of a memory? For the past few months, I have been interviewing and recording friends, strangers, family, and lovers about their sensory memories. I have taken these recordings and am translating them into glowing orbs of color that represent each memory. Together, the pieces create a collection of oil paintings that evoke balls of light.
