Artist statement

Hello! My name is Jmon Prince. I'm an independent multidisciplinary creative of Jamaican descent — born, raised, and currently based in Houston, Texas. I am the Founder and Creative Director of Godbody Gallery (GBG); the medium fluid, black led arthouse with an overarching goal of showcasing the minority experience without the glorification of trauma. The brand focuses on intersectional themes such as strength in identity, luxury in lineage, and resilience in stride . Operating from an omnist perspective, personal sub-cultures are systematically recontextualized by design to create new experiences. Various mediums coexist within the brand's ecosystem to contribute to the overarching mission of diasporic education, empowerment, and connectivity. Apart from my all encompassing passion project of GBG, I provide creative direction for likeminded world builders who want to be the change they dream of seeing.
