This is An Tran's 2024 Playbook Imagination Fund application, titled Artnation, to give teachers of younger students the materials to teach skills such as sublimation and product design.
Artist statement
As a high school teacher, I have developed new courses that encompass graphic design, product creation, and CNC machining. These programs have not only impacted my students but have also resonated within the broader community. Through word of mouth, I’ve received interest from technology teachers across different educational levels who are eager to implement similar programs in their middle and elementary school classrooms. I have demonstrated proof of concept with my high school students, and now I seek to expand these efforts. With your support, I aim to provide educators with the materials and resources needed to teach essential skills such as sublimation, product design, and more, empowering younger students to engage in hands-on learning and creativity. By extending these innovative programs to a wider audience, we can foster early interest in technology and design, setting students up for future success.
