Kayla Imagination Fund Application — under the stars

Artist statement
Titled "under the stars", this project combines biographical essays, drawn portraiture, and landscape photography into a storytelling method aimed at capturing the essence of the Huntsville, Alabama community. Known as 'Rocket City', we have often been known for our endless pursuits of adventure into the unknown. With this project, however, I aim not to look to the stars, but to look to our star-gazers– and to build community through their stories as they unfolded in the shadows of rockets.
