Kym Motley Photography — A Closer Look

Artist statement

My collection of photographs focuses on taking a closer look from a different point of view. I found magic in shooting everyday scenes from the tops of bridges and a ferris wheel, and by shooting at ground level, eye to eye with grass shoots and blooms. I also captured the rare, yet present, reflective nature of New York City via mosaic mirrors and the young boy's escape in the corner of Bethesda Fountain. I love to show scale by capturing the simple, repeating shapes of humans, headlamps, and botanical blooms.
