This photo was taken at the end of summer and captures the process of cell death that occurs at this time in some plants. However, a contrary tension seems to invest the image: while the sculptural black and white gives the plants an aspect of ruin, the impression of chaos and disorder surrounding them conjures up a form of resurrection power lying in the dissemination of their seeds. Fundamentally, the aim is to represent the complex balance of the living at the heart of every ecosystem.
