Gerardo Santiago is a freelance photographer based in Cologne, Germany. Reframing Memories is an experimental series made by layering several film negatives into a single frame. It was entered in Playbook's 2025 Photo Competition, “Hidden in Plain Sight.”
Artist statement
Reframing Memories is a personal project highlighting an experimental approach through photography, film negatives, and creativity. I transmute modern technology and analog film to create distinctive imagery. I made a literal multiple exposure, but did multiple negative films layered together to create a unique frame and narrative.
