Go Hoop Outside Proposal
I love getting people, particularly young people, outdoors to play. With technology booming the way it is, kids are tempted to spend lots of time on devices. I want to help inspire balance starting with Go Hoop Outside. Because basketball is my first love, I want to start on the basketball court. Which leads to my proposal. I want to make a basketball shoe specifically for playing on outdoor courts!
My goal is to make a short film showing how important it is to have outdoor basketball shoes. I also want this film to look really cool and fun. Kids need to see how fun it is to play outside. It's cool to play on an indoor court, sure but there is nothing like getting some vitamin D on the court surrounded by friends. Indoor courts also aren't always as accessible as outdoor courts.
The film will be posted to Youtube, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. It would be great to go viral but the impact will for sure hit my community regardless. If successful, this grabs the attention of a big brands and takes off. If we can get this shoe created, it would be a huge win. Even if we can get a brand to come out and say that their shoe is the best outdoor hoops shoe, that would be a win as well.
If the Imagination Fund can help us get the attention of brands like Nike, we can really get the ball rolling. Our production company otrmg.com has the resources and network to get this film made, we would just love some assistance paying some crew to work on it with us.
My wildest dream is to have Go Hoop Outside become a global initiative starting with a short film, evolving into a shoe and then leading into community lead events and programs.
