Sanni Mujeeb Jonathan (Esemjay) is a gifted Nigerian animator and illustrator, recognized for his contributions to the local and global art community. Born in Lagos with Edo State roots, the name "Esemjay" fuses his native name, Esenojie, meaning "the gift of God," with his initials SMJ. Since 2015, he has worked with renowned studios such as Spoof Animation, Loveworld Teaching, and Vortex Corp, rising to Head of Animations at Spoof.

A graduate of Graphic Art and Design from the University of Benin, Esemjay has collaborated with various comic studios, contributing to works like Ireti Bidemi #7. In 2024, he was awarded Comic Illustrator of the Year at the Ibadan Comic Convention. Passionate about mentoring young artists, he is dedicated to nurturing Nigeria's burgeoning comic and animation industry while working on his own future stories.
