about me

Curious, Collaborative & Mission-Driven

Across the worlds of print, radio, television and digital, Casey Mendoza has worked as a photographer, videographer, reporter, editor, producer and documentary filmmaker. She's the Swiss Army Knife of every newsroom she's ever worked in, but no matter the team or project, her goal is the same: to entertain, educate and empower.

Most notably, Casey has hosted and produced episodes of the Emmy Award-Winning Documentary Series, "In Real Life"; her leadership on the ground as a field producer helped drive 2.1M viewers to Scripps News' coverage of the 2024 Democratic National Convention; and her creativity and zeal for storytelling has been recognized by organizations like the Google News Initiative, International Women's Media Foundation, Asian American Journalists Association and Video Consortium.

As an entertainment reporter, Casey sees pop culture through the lens of social issues, politics, history and technology. From the growing dominance of streaming, the democratized influence of online fandoms and the nuanced discussions about equity and inclusion in Hollywood, she's covered all things related to the ever-evolving industry.

When Casey isn't working (whatever that means), she feel most home at any comic-con around the country, or in her own living room, watching a romantic comedy with her husband and two cats.
