Artist statement
My name is Mauricio Costa, a Brazilian photographer born in 1985 in São Paulo. Photography has been my passion since 2018, evolving from a hobby into a meaningful creative pursuit. My unique approach centers around using my cell phone as my sole tool, showcasing how mobile devices can capture stunning, evocative imagery. Over the years, I have immersed myself in learning and refining my skills, which led to a remarkable opportunity: joining an NGO as a photographer. This organization is dedicated to supporting homeless individuals and animals—a cause deeply aligned with my values. Through my lens, I aim to share stories, spark empathy, and inspire change. I strive to prove that a keen and patient eye can achieve wonders, without the need for expensive cameras or lenses.
