Artist statement

My submission is a set of photographs which are part of a project I have been working on since 2021. It mixes my passions for photography and layman's science. I started with buying old research microscopes and perfecting the connection of my modern digital camera. The main microscope has polarising filters and wave plates. The resulting photographs are a burst of shape and colour when viewing crystals of various substances, with which I have endlessly experimented. Hidden in plain sight.
