Tadela Tedemet is the inventor of Boxybun, a low-cost hair accessory used like a sock bun for wearing drying twist-outs and braid-outs in a style that mirrors box braids in a bun. This is Tadela Tedemet's 2024 Playbook Imagination Fund application, with four working prototypes.
Artist statement
My name is Tadela (it means she's lucky!) and I'm the inventor of Boxybun. I have had 4 working prototypes so far and am on the way to making a huge impact on the lives of black women all across the world!
