The Samurai Collection: Mobile Pop-Up Store

What is the project?The Samurai Collection is more than a fashion line—it’s an immersive experience that will come to life through a physical mobile store. My goal is to launch a pop-up shop at public events, comicons, anime conventions, and video game conventions across the country. The pop-up store will feature high-quality, samurai-inspired streetwear, with professional displays and an interactive retail experience.To bring this concept to life, I’ll create a trade show booth that embodies the essence of Oni Threads, with custom branding, professional displays, and a seamless in-person retail experience. The booth will integrate augmented reality (AR) features to provide visitors with a unique way to engage with the collection, blending digital and physical experiences.How will this project help me grow?With the Imagination Fund, I can take The Samurai Collection beyond the digital realm and create a tactile, immersive retail experience. This will allow me to explore new mediums like event design and AR in physical spaces, while also expanding my expertise in pop-up retail and trade show exhibitions.

By creating a physical mobile store, I’m offering more than just a shopping experience—I’m building a space where individuals can immerse themselves in the bold, cultural narratives of The Samurai Collection. This pop-up store will serve as a cultural hub, where fashion, art, and history intersect. Each visit will be an opportunity for individuals to engage with the brand in a personal and interactive way, fostering a sense of community and cultural appreciation.The AR integration will take this a step further by allowing visitors to interact with the collection in a digital space, enhancing their experience while exploring the samurai-inspired designs in new and innovative ways.Artistically, the project challenges the boundaries of how streetwear and culture can merge in physical retail spaces, creating a lasting impact on attendees at conventions and public events.

This project offers me the chance to grow as both a designer and a business owner. By launching a mobile pop-up shop, I’ll gain hands-on experience in retail commerce, trade show booth design, and in-person customer engagement—skills that will allow me to expand Oni Threads in new directions.Additionally, working with AR in a physical retail environment will push my creative boundaries, merging digital storytelling with real-world experiences. This combination of physical and digital will allow me to grow in technical expertise, marketing strategy, and customer experience design. The Imagination Fund will provide me with the resources to create a fully branded, professional pop-up shop that showcases the heart of The Samurai Collection, helping me grow as an artist, a designer, and a leader in my field.
