A User-Centred Redesign of a Door Stop
Task
In this project, pairs redesigned each other's chosen unsatisfactory product based on user-oriented changes determined through observations, interviews, and focus groups, with a focus on addressing disliked features and improving overall usability and desirability.
Solution
Since my user found the usage of her door stop troublesome on a carpeted floor, but she moves to a different apartment every year, I decided to design a door stop which is userfriendly on a variety of flooring. The appearance is inspired by the user’s favourite food – carrots. The final product is made with 3D printed PLA, laser-cut then hot-wire bent acrylic, and various standard components.
