In a world flooded with noise and movement, there exists an overlooked silence—a quiet tension woven into the everyday lives of people, often unnoticed but deeply present. My portfolio Hidden in Plain Sight invites viewers to pause and see the unseen: the resilience of a mother shielding her baby with plastic during monsoon rain; the solitude of a man navigating toxic waste; the silent harmony between humans and landscapes shaped by disaster, displacement, or routine survival.
As a visual artist from Bangladesh, my work centers on capturing fleeting, intimate moments—often in communities impacted by climate change, poverty, and migration. I am drawn to the emotional depth found in mundane spaces: the rail station where a woman sleeps under plastic in the pouring rain, the distant flood shelter that becomes home, or the innocence of children fenced behind iron gates during a flood crisis. These photographs document not only visual truths but emotional ones—expressions of aloneness, endurance, and unspoken connection.
This portfolio explores how entire human experiences—grief, hope, labor, love—can hide in open view. The people and places I photograph are not invisible; they are simply passed by. By focusing on subtle gestures, muted suffering, and overlooked moments of dignity, I aim to bring these realities to the foreground, offering a counter-narrative to what we choose to see.
My intention is not just to witness, but to confront indifference—challenging viewers to engage with the layered beauty and injustice that exist side by side in public spaces. Hidden in Plain Sight is both a reflection of our visual ignorance and a call to truly look.
