Step 3: Submit!

The boxybun is the perfect solution for black women and all women of African descent who are embracing their natural hair textures. For decades women with thick coarse hair textures have used chemicals, heat, and fake hair to change their appearances to fit into the eurocentric model Western culture has made so desirable across the planet. But not anymore! Naturalistas have been making a wave, from proud afro-latinas rocking their poofy curls to celebrities like Tyla wearing braids and locs, natural is finally in baby! And the boxybun is the perfect solution! When black women do a twist out (which is twisting wet hair and letting it dry to create cute and clean curls without chemical or heat damage) the twist out and braid out take a long time to dry! You're almost sentanced to staying home for 2-3 days depending on how absorbent your hair is. The boxybun is a low cost solution for this! We simply put our hair up and use it like a traditional sock bun, creating a look that mirrors box braids put up in a bun, a style that can take 9 hours and hundreds of dollars!

Step 2: Your project proposal

So far I have got four working protoypes of boxybun but ran out of funds to perfect it. I sold all four protoypes to my friends and hand made more, and worked with a manufacturer in China to get it right, work on packaging, and get this launched. I also have a patent pending on the design and use.

My past work:

My name is Tadela (it means she's lucky!) and I'm the inventor of Boxybun. I have had 4 working prototypes so far and am on the way to making a huge impact on the lives of black women all across the world!I am so excited to share this project with you.
