Calabax: Revolutionizing Grocery Shopping with Robotic Self Checkout Shopping CartsCalabax is at the forefront of robotic shopping carts with the innovative Calabax Cart. The Calabax Cart lets you shop and scan items, find products in the store, and track your spending, all while it follows you, eliminating the need for pushing. The Calabax Cart arises from identifying the need for easier grocery shopping, especially for those with mobility limitations along with extensive internal and external studies examining the pain points for all shoppers which engendered results showing the need for improved self checkout, demystification of the store and mobility assistance.Transforming the Shopping ExperienceThe Calabax Cart fundamentally changes how society interacts with shopping carts. It becomes a tool that creates a frictionless shopping experience. Additionally, deploying multiple Calabax Carts in a store will reduce the need for human staff thereby lowering operational costs.Proven Technology, Ready for DeploymentWe have successfully tested three functional Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) for extended periods (greater than 50 hours of testing), demonstrating their readiness for deployment. These MVPs currently utilize geographically dispersed teleoperation.Calabax combines the Internet of Things (IoT), edge computing, and robotics to create a revolutionary shopping experience. It will expand accessibility to shopping and fundamentally change how people interact with grocery carts.Next StepsCalabax is investing in obtaining PFF follow modules which can be connected to our current robotic platform. This will be our first step towards investigating autonomy and seeing how good of a solution this will be as an alternative to Geographically Dispersed Teleoperation.Calabax proposes a pilot program in Chicago with funding from the Imagination Fund. This initiative aims to validate our solution's efficacy in meeting the evolving needs of modern consumers. Through rigorous data analysis, we will gather actionable insights to inform iterative product development and ensure optimal alignment with market trends

What have you made so far? What are your mediums and inspirations?I am the founder and CEO of Calabax. At Calabax, we have created robotic self checkout shopping carts. These are shopping carts that follows shopper around and help shoppers to checkout, find items, charge their phones and save shopping lists.I have written 2 books called New Nigeria and New Philistine. In the first book, I delve deeply into the current state of the country Nigeria and delineate exceptional solutions to fixing the myriad of problems the country is facing. The second book is New Philistine which covers the notorious Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It explores the long running history of the conflict and recommends a complete new and feasible 2 state solution.I perform standup comedy. I perform all around Chicago and I have been in quite a number of roast battles which have been a phenomenal time for the audience!I love CAD. I have several engineering models that I have made using CAD. These are mainly models for conceptual planes and helicopters.
