Artist statement

personal archive of my (re)encounters with the sea over the past three years. Different planes, shores, corners, and surfaces that all illustrate something in common: how much one of the largest ecosystems on this planet hides and reveals. The sea withdraws, and within it keeps everything hidden in plain sight from the limitations of our terrestrial bodies, and then, in its grateful generosity, it reveals itself as foam and bubbles, finally claiming to be contained within the earth. The sea reveals itself and becomes a beach; in becoming a beach, it hides what was once accessible to our eyes. The sea returns and withdraws, and thus performs one of the oldest dances in the world: its waves, which, along with the clouds, the sun, and the moon, becomes see(a) below and see(a) above
