I would like to embark on a 30-day challenge to create at least 5 distinct bags using various mediums such as yarn, paint, clay, beads, and fabric. This project is not just about crafting; it’s a journey to express my experiences growing up in an immigrant household. I grew up seeing certain patterns and brands that I want to incorporate into my creations.Goals:

Explore Creativity: Each bag will reflect my unique perspective, inspired by the bags I encountered in my upbringing.

Embrace Challenges: By allowing room for error and correction, I will document the process, showcasing my growth as a designer, artist, and maker.

Social Impact:

I aim to share my story and foster a connection with audiences, highlighting the richness of my cultural background.

Support:

The Imagination Fund will provide essential resources to help me realize my vision and fully embrace my creative potential. Through this project, I hope to impress my younger self and inspire others to explore their creativity.

Project Proposal

Creative Days Art is a freelance visual art company founded and operated by me - Bithia Dantoumda. The brand name is inspired by my personal story of how all the days filled with creating gave me the most comfort.

Creative Days Art - Imagination Fund Proposal

After moving to a new city just before high school and feeling isolated without friends, I immersed myself in arts and crafts. I began with pencil drawings and gradually explored ink, paint, and digital illustration. Proud of my progress, I documented my growth and shared it online.

As my skills improved, people took notice and began commissioning me. These requests grew more frequent, revealing that my artistic talents could help cover my school expenses—supplies, trips, and more. As an immigrant with limited job opportunities, I had created my own source of income.

Getting accepted into university and moving out of my childhood home marked another significant transition. Once again in a new environment, I found it challenging to make friends, so I focused on creating. In 2020, I decided to elevate my content by not only posting photos but also engaging in short-form videos. I challenged myself to buy and custom paint everyday bags, which gained some traction on social media, leading to a new wave of commission requests.

Fast forward to now, I’m still creating and eager to push my boundaries. When I saw Playbook announce their Imagination Fund, I recognized it as the perfect opportunity to further challenge myself and enhance my skills. This project will allow me to document my progress in mediums I’ve previously explored, all while sharing my journey with others.
