My name is Denzyl Dacayanan, and I am a photographer and creator. I was born in San Francisco. I grew up in Las Vegas, and now live on the island of Oahu. My goal is to capture and tell stories that inspire others to notice the goodness around and within themselves. Photography has taught me to notice light, texture, color, movement, and emotion.

I love photography, but more than that, I love that photography allows me to live my life with more awareness and care. There's a certain excitement and reverence that comes when taking the right shot, and that's what I want to inspire in others —to look outward and beyond, to notice and appreciate the goodness around them, with and without a camera.

My project proposal is titled, "Voices of Ko'olauloa" and is focused on telling the stories of individuals found along the Ko'olauloa mountain range on the island of O'ahu.
