LogisticsThe next issue of Womanly will focus on climate health and its impact on women’s health. This issue will raise awareness of the unique vulnerabilities women and marginalized communities face against the backlash of the climate crisis, equip readers with actionable information to advocate for environmental justice, and inspire collective action to prioritize the health of those disproportionately affected by climate change. Our turn-around time for project development — including ideation and planning, a call for and review of submissions, content development, editing, and design - takes approximately 5 months. Work on the project would begin in December 2024 with the official launch happening between May and June 2025.Our impactWomanly has been successfully creating didactic yet impactful work that is capable of positively influencing health choices in our target communities. In our print and digital content, we lift up voices that are often neglected by the typical women’s magazine. Just like us, our content, contributors and audience are diverse. We cover topics like discrimination in the healthcare system, intergenerational concerns, and physical and sexual health and expression. Through our unique platform, we engage a wide audience with eye-catching art and soulful prose, while simultaneously promoting the work of artists. The development and distribution of our health magazine is the core of our organization. Past magazine issues developed by our team have centered on vital public health concerns that include: heart health; high blood pressure; Black maternal health; aging and intergenerational concerns; stress and anxiety; and food, nutrition and access.
