I'm a multi-media creator who loves to write and direct female focused comedies. Also bless my poor cat Emma who has been the subject of too many of my photoshop fails.

My proposal is to use the imagination funds towards a proof of concept short film as a way to fund my next movie idea, Who Killed Thelma. I'll be learning new skills of using practical effects, of which I've never done before. I'm drawing upon inspiration from some of my favorite horror comedies, including Death Becomes Her, and Beetlejuice, as well as artists like Dali and Lichtenstein. This short film and the extended movie long version both deal with trauma, and the baggage people carry around. Thelma is literally dragging a cinderblock that represents all of her repressed trauma. I think this will have a social impact of not being afraid to be one's authentic self, owning one's vices and flaws, and not being afraid of the world. I always want to be growing as an artist and a creator. I think as soon as you feel comfortable that's when you should stop doing what you're doing and learn to do something else. I always try to do things that scare me a little bit. I could really use this Imagination Fund to help further my career as a filmmaker and an artist.
