PROJECT DESCRIPTIONEat it Up is a 3-part conceptual photoshoot by M00dy x Militant. Each part is a reflection of Jaya and Janaya’s thoughts on the creative process itself and the current creator culture, using food in each part to illustrate emotions of over consumption, curiosity, and a hunger for change. We later plan to collect all images and turn it into an informational zine with tips to give creators encouragement, grounding exercise for a clear mind, and other ways to show their skills.PART 1: Themes of longing, yearning, hunger, stagnancy, sadness, creative rut.PART 2: Themes of cooking, creation, planning, plotting, conceptualizing, ideating, and inspirationPART 3: Themes of execution, finished product, result, success, creative freedom, confidence, satisfaction, celebrationFunding: We plan to turn Eat it Up into a informational zine on how to encourage independent creators to get in touch with their authentic ideas and exercises to execute them. As well as a creative workshop where they can make their own art with group activities and displaying their natural talents. We want this photoshoot to have a butterfly effect on others and shifting their perspective of not only their own skills but art itself. This will require studio rentals, lighting equipment, wardrobe, props, and zine production.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Our StoryThe MoodyxMilitant team is made up of Janaya Britton and Jaya Nicole. Janaya currently resides in Houston and Jaya lives in Los Angeles. Our story starts with meeting in 2018 during college at Texas Southern University. We both admired each other for our style and overall creative eye and interests, then instantly became friends.Since then, we’ve been able to collaborate on several creative projects and aid in each others artistic, personal, and entrepreneurial growth. Together we have worked on photoshoots, short form video content, writing and graphic design. In her personal creative life Janaya partakes in music, wardrobe styling and modeling. Jaya has done things such as concert and festival photography, podcast interviews, and watercolor painting as well.We both take inspiration from internet subcultures, television and film, fashion, all forms of black art, our home towns, and life as we experience it being black women in America.“Eat it Up" was a concept we created years ago, but now living in different states our creative connection has become long distance. Dreaming one day to raise enough funding to bring our many artistic ideations to life. Through this fund and project, we plan to use it to serve as a reminder that we’re more than capable of executing any project that comes to mind. And that we can provide opportunities and a safe space for our creative community.
