21.09 - 27.10.2024, Berlin-GrunewaldWALD is an immersive theater experience combining nature, audio storytelling, and live performance. Designed as a fresh format for Berlin’s theater scene, it led audiences through the forest on a narrative journey. The piece was recorded in both German and English, requiring a diverse cast of voice actors, including performers from the Deutsches Theater Berlin.Main Participants

Director: Nikita Betekhtin

Writer: Polina Borodina (Translation: Veniamin Itskovich & Kay Rommel)

Live Performance: Yaroslav Romanov

Production: Maria Lupandina

Sound Design: Nikita Zatravkin

Graphic Design: Holystick Design

Video & Photography: Frol Podlesnyi

My Role: Executive ProducerOversaw production, marketing, PR, and event management to bring this unique experience to life.Challenges & SolutionsThe biggest challenge was reaching a German-speaking audience, as our existing community was predominantly Russian-speaking. Without access to traditional theater networks, we relied entirely on Instagram marketing—resulting in a strong turnout. Additionally, negotiating fees and adapting routes with the Forestry Office required persistence, ultimately securing fair conditions. Why I Love This ProjectBringing an entirely new format to Berlin was both risky and rewarding. Seeing audiences immerse themselves in the story, surrounded by nature, proved that alternative theater experiences can thrive beyond traditional spaces.SkillsTheater Production, Event Management, Marketing, PR, Budgeting, Contract Negotiation, Social Media, Audience Development, Site-Specific Performance

Wer?

Regie: Nikita Betekhtin

Buch: Polina Borodina

übersetzt von Veniamin Itskovich und Kay Rommel

Voice-over-Schauspieler:innen: Janek Maudrich, Lisa Birke Balzer, Maria Agni, J.
