hidden in plain sight
hidden in plain sight
If you stare at anything long enough, you’ll always find something you didn’t see at the beginning. Although it might not look like it at the beginning, this series of photographs is not about the things we often overlook, but about the things we underlook.
These intermittently contrasting images all come from a childlike standpoint, where curiosity and hunger take the lead. They create a kind of improvised rhythm — like jazz.
Our attention is one of the most life-changing tools we have, and also one of the hardest to control. We use it best during childhood, maybe because we let our instincts guide it. I try to do that still.
This series is a compilation of those attempts.
