Henny Harmon Underwater Photography — Hidden in h2o
Henny Harmon's ongoing series h2o is underwater portrait photography about freedom, style and transformation in water, with semi-faceless images of people beneath the surface. It was entered in Playbook's 2025 Photo Competition, “Hidden in Plain Sight.”

Artist statement
"h2o" is an immersive underwater experience that captures the essence of freedom, style, and transformation in water through imagery. This ongoing series challenges conventional portraiture by pushing the boundaries of movement, weightlessness, and self-expression beneath the surface. Over the past 12 years, I have developed a deep appreciation for water and the creatures in it. This project serves as both a visual exploration and an invitation for others to experience this unique realm. The following images are a few semi-faceless selections that portray people underwater, hidden in plain sight.
